Bedouin is
easily Audio X’s most ambitious and groundbreaking album in the label’s
history. Produced by Audio X president Brian Hardin, Bedouin tells
Christ's
story through a majestically musical narrative that sets the actual words of
Jesus to a contemporary operatic score reminiscent of early Enigma and
Peter Gabriel. Bedouin offers up the most contemporary soundtrack to the
gospel story while remaining true to the pious spirit and worshipful
nature that elicits inspired reflection.
The Bedouin album explores ten critical periods in
Christ’s earthly existence, including his birth, childhood, his
connection with people, his miracles, his resurrection, his ascension, and
such teachings as his parables and the Sermon on the Mount. These periods,
divided into ten tracks, paint a portrait of Christ’s walk through
select scriptures that generally focus either on direct words from Jesus
himself or from those closest to him. Bedouin’s spoken word performance,
delivered by Joe G1jtzmlitl and Absolute recording artist Jill
Parr, impact the listener with subtle dramatic tones that seep into a
person’s aesthetic experience like well-crafted poetry.
Bedouin’s serene musical backdrops add to the
experience by providing atmosphere, setting, and emotion to key moments in
the Gospel story. Likewise, the music s inspired feel helps evoke
unfettered meditation surrounding Christ’s life and teachings. Never
before has an album based on the Christ narratives offered up such a soul
stirring musical background to the grandest words ever spoken.
To fulfill such a potent creative vision Brian Hardin
only utilized the best musicians and performers, including guitarist Glen
Pearce (FFH, 4Him) and John Pistiotta (Benjamin Gather), former Whiteheart
bass player Anthony Sallee, and others. Likewise, for the spoken word
parts Hardin recruited the talent of Joe Gutzmirtl and Absolute recording
artist Jill Parr. Together, the team behind Bedouin created a masterful
narrative soundscape that will remain fresh and continue to stir the soul
for many years to come.
