A
rare breed,
indeed. . .a fine singer and guitarist. . .a composer and arranger. . .a
poet and theologian. All the more rare when found wrapped up all in one
package. But that’s Clark Byron.
Clark is a
unique talent. There’s really none like him in Christian music today.
With a musical style that is deeply influenced by many of the great
popular artists of our age, Clark is nonetheless a true original. People
in the industry seem to agree. Ken Monroe, a Christian radio
executive in Kansas City says, "Clark's music has a fresh sound
and energy that everyone can enjoy." Jack Willard of Sounds
of Life Radio in New York says, "Clark is a gifted music minister
who really reaches his audience. It's a joy to play his music on our
station." David Bryan of Kanas City's WDAF 61 country says,
"Clark Byron has one of the finest voices I have ever heard!"
And Clyde Pilkington of WAMV radio in Lynchburg, VA says: "I
find the lyrics inspiring and the singing style so refreshing...we give
several selections daily airplay!"
One of the
things that makes Clark’s music so special is just how beautifully
artistic it is. It’s not merely a bed for the lyrics, but rather, it is
contemporary musical artistry at its very best. People from all walks of
life seem to be able to appreciate its beauty and excitement, and relate
to its ever-inspiring spiritual message.
But perhaps
the greatest attribute of Clark Byron’s music is its lyrical content.
Sung in today’s language with conviction and feeling, Clark presents
biblical truth with passion and clarity, on a deeply human level. His
Christ-centered message is of a caliber befitting a trained theologian, (Clark
is a Doctor of Ministry and former seminary professor, pastor, and
chaplain). “Powerful” is the word most often used to describe the
spiritual offering his music brings.
Clark’s
album, Precious Cargo, is his first. It features ten of his best
pieces, six of which are slated for release as singles in various
Christian music genres. As one enthusiastic listener put it: “I
can’t decide which one is my favorite. . .there’s not a weak song on
the whole album.”
Fans of Pop,
Light Rock, Country, and Soft Contemporary will love the refreshing
contribution Clark Byron brings to Christian music. A common reaction to
Clark’s music from first-time listeners is usually something along the
lines of: “If more Christian music sounded like this, I’d listen to
more of it!” We think you’ll agree!
