Sound2000 are a four-piece band from Northampton U.K. that has been together since October 1998.

They have their own distinctive musical style with a strong punk/rock/pop influence and their music is described as "Power Pop in a retro style with enough fizz to blow your bottle."

It all started one late night after a drinking session and a 'funk' fuelled conversation with guitars and bongos. The band members were all playing in different groups but they often used to 'jam' together.

They shared a strong love for music and often talked about playing together on a regular basis. This combined with a strong desire to write and play distinctive songs of their own lead to the formation of Sound2000.

They immediately started to write and produce their own material and in the spring of 1999 recorded their first album 'Caught the Bug', which includes their very popular single 'Ladyboyz'.

They have been in the top three downloads on 'UK sounds' and have been featured on 'Pop-Music.net' as well as in National publications. Their music has been played on European and American radio stations and is starting to
attract a regular dedicated following.

They have just completed a new E.P. 'Oyster' which is due to be released in August and will be embarking on a European tour in the autumn.
