| Bob Evola - began his musical roots during high school where he learned to play the Alto Saxophone and participated in marching bands and school shows. "It didn't take me long to realize that my chosen instrument really didn't sound good solo," says Bob, "so I decided to trade it in for a portable organ." Bob, however now had a second challenge. "They didn't teach piano or organ in school, we had no room in our NYC home for a piano, and piano teachers didn't want to teach on a portable organ", but persistent, Bob decided to teach the instrument to himself. Bob formed a number of bands in the NYC area and spent several years playing copy music in high schools, colleges, bars, and clubs in the metro New York area. After too many 4AM nights, and after writing several original songs, Bob decided it was time to toss in the towel in the club venues and turn his attention to all original music. He wrote and performed in bands such as Pleasant Dreams and Andromeda. After several "near misses" with record companies, Bob moved to Madison WI, eventually settling in Atlanta GA. "Having left my NYC friends back home, and wanting to stay involved in developing my music, I looked for ways to further and expand my abilities." Bob found a home in liturgical music and agreed to head up the Music Ministry at his local church. Today Bob continues his Music Ministry and has written several hundred rock, pop, and country songs. His compositions also include two Masses, hymns, and children's songs. He is currently LIFE Teen Band Director at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Buford Georgia. "I have always loved great melodies," says Bob, "and my latest musical project focuses on using technologies and keyboards to create an atmosphere woven with melodies and textures." Bob is also co-founder of DigitalCuts.com. |
