After being formed in the summer of 1984 and given a major make over in 1987, the band CIMARRON emerged with the reputation of being THE local band that was must to see in and around the Columbus, Ohio area. CIMARRON is known for the high professionalism of their stage show, and the even higher energy level they maintain during each performance. They give their many fans the best entertainment possible each and every time they take the stage. Now, with the release of their brand new CD, CIMARRON is ready to move full speed ahead through 1999 and into the millennium.

CIMARRON’S new show is built around the nine original songs on the CD and promises to be bigger, better, and hotter than ever. Band leader and lead vocalist Pat McLoughlin brings together your favorite radio songs, and then kicks the entertainment up a notch by performing the cuts from the new CD.

The eagerly awaited CD, entitled CIMARRON, INCOGNITO, was recorded in Nashville in two separate recording sessions, and the nine original songs will satisfy even the most diehard music fan. The songs combine great lyrics with hard driving rhythm patterns, intense singing, harmonies as smooth as blended whiskey, and a level of excitement found only in the best CD’s on the market.

In the beginning, the band performed at clubs such as the Playboy Club and Dirty Sally’s, on Columbus’s east side, playing mostly the tested tried traditional songs of the day. Taking three years to carefully bone their act, the band listened to what their fans were saying and began leaning a little more toward the more contemporary sound of country rock.

Another hard decision came when the band decided to make a change in the lineup, replacing some members and adding others. That change ultimately proved to be exactly what was needed. New band members Larry Reese and Kerry Patesel brought a fresh look and a fresh sound to the band, and they continued to grow in popularity, often bringing the audience into active involvement in the show. It was during this time that they truely became entertainers, and not just another local band.

Pat McLoughlin is still acting as front man. Together with the highly talented vocals Larry Reese, the rock steady heat laid down by drummer Bob Kettler, the awesome guitar playing of Kent Robbins, and the guitar and keyboard versatility of Kerry Patesel, this version of CIMARRON the best ever. Once you see them live on stage, or listen to their CD, you’ll understand why so many people who come out to a club to see the band as simply another night out leave as fans, and why they come back for more at every opportunity.

CIMARRON will be the band that will lead Columbus into the millennium in style, and don’t be surprised if you find yourself singing along.

The Weekender, The Columbus Dispatch, Columbus, Ohio - Don't think the death of Princess Diana stirred only Elton John's muse.  In Cimarron's new album, Incognito, Pat McLoughlin envisions a happier, less stressful life for the royal woman.  "We can skip stones on the pond behind the Johnson's farm", he sings in Lady Di.  Te song is the only straightforward country rock tribute to royalty that we know of.  McLoughlin says what Di really needed was a guy who made his livin' with his hands, not some lily boy playing polo.

"We recorded the song three months before her disappointing accident," said McLaughlin. "The folks in Nashville were understandably concerned that some people would think we were making light of her or the sad event.  That's why you see the disclaimer in the CD's liner notes."  The release was held up for many months deciding how to handle the situation carefully. "Diana touched the lives of people everywhere and was a princess not only for England, but for the world."

Disclaimer or not, Diana probably would never have given up the good life for a guy who made his living with his hands. But listening to the witty McLoughlin pretend Di would rather skip stones on the pond behind the Johnson farm (and without her bodyguards) than shop or sleep is funnier than any parody song. An excellent melody and hook make the song brilliant. It's the highlight of an outstanding country CD and worthy of being a part of your personal collection.
