| Music has been from the beginning
of recorded time, the expression of the hopes and aspirations of mankind.
Through it we feel something that we cannot as yet entirely explain. We
associate our fondest experiences in life with music. Love, romance,
marriages, and yes, even death are all aspects of life that composers have
sought to convey through musical expression. I felt the mysterious power
of music at a young age. I could feel my body physically reacting to
certain sounds and rhythms. Later in my life, as I grew in the spirit, I
realized that what I felt was the Holy Spirit moving in my being and with
it bringing renewal, upliftment and a transformation of inner character
that is evident in joy, happiness, peace and contentment. My goal in
writing this music was to convey some of the spiritual emotions and
feelings that I have been blessed to experience on the path of salvation
for the last twenty years of my life. It is my hope that these songs will
help make your spiritual journey more focused and goal oriented. The word muse means to reflect quietly, or to say or think meditatively. It is my belief that if we focus on God, we his children, can reflect a greater portion of his love through our lives. Music by it's nature is spiritual. We cannot see it, but we feel it's power in our lives. It is the invisible made manifest through human endeavor. Through praise and worship we meditate and focus our emotions on our hope and the promise of salvation through Christ. I pray that the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart are acceptable in the eyes of the Lord. I have often felt incomplete for the task to which I have felt appointed. I take comfort as Paul did when our Lord said unto him, "My grace is sufficient for thee". Lord make me an instrument of thy peace. Emery J. Woodall III |
