| Gabriel of Sedona, first
and foremost, is a spiritual leader and considers music an expression of
his spirituality. He started singing on street corners when he was six years old. At twelve he was singing professionally in teenage dances with harmony groups. At sixteen he had his first band in which he recorded his first 45's on vinyl in the medium of rhythm and blues. Working in night clubs for many years with various bands, he also performed as a jazz vocalist. He began writing his spiritual music in the early seventies. He was far ahead of his time, as his music which was spiritual in origin had a pop sound to it, that wasn't quite gospel. And so he came up with many different words and phrases to describe his music; one was New Age Vocal. In 1985 he recorded a complete professional album of New Age Vocal
music which he took to Los Angeles. At that time he was told by
