Patrick Mulhern - is a
classically trained lyric tenor. While born in America, his beautiful
lilting voice reveals his Irish heritage.
Patrick was born in Rockville,
Maryland, one of ten children. In his youth he served as an altar boy and
sang in church with his mother, who was a professional singer (radio,
plays and various productions).
Throughout his adult career, Patrick
has performed as a soloist or as part of a voice ensemble at the Kennedy
Center, National Cathedral, Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, St.
Patrick's Cathedral in New York, and many other Churches throughout the
eastern United States.
His powerful voice allows for an
impressive repertoire from Broadway hits to well known Irish ballads and
favorite Italian arias. His true love, however, is sacred music. Mr.
Mulhern has had the honor of being the tenor soloist for such well known
Oratorio as Handel's Messiah, Stainer's Crucifixion and
Haydn's Creation.
In 1993 Patrick decided to branch out
as a solo artist, and in 1995 recorded an album inspired by his return to
the Church, titled I Can See. In 1998 he recorded and released his
second album, His Gift: Reflections on the Christmas Story. In
these recordings, it is evident that Patrick truly sings from the heart.
Few artists can combine the control and beauty of a well trained tenor
voice with the emotion and spirituality that he brings to his music and
audiences.
